Learn the basics of quilting in this six-session “hands-on”
class which features a “Sampler Quilt” project. Student syllabus
includes class time for terminology, fabric selection, sashing, cornerstones, several how to do it techniques, block construction
and quilt top assembly.

New Underground Railroad Class

By popular demand,
we have opened an additional class to start May 12 and continue every second Monday for 12 months. Join us as we
make our way through Eleanor Burn's “Underground Railroad”. Each
month you will construct one of the 15 blocks that make up this fun historical quilt. Learn the meaning of each block as well
as some fun and easy quilting techniques courtesy of Eleanor. (Some months
you will be constructing 2 blocks).

This traditional quilt is easily made by strip
piecing, sewing into tubes and before you know it, you have a completed quilt. This is a great quilt for using color
and contrast. Bring a lunch or snack. You should have a completed quilt by the end of this class.

Join us as we follow Eleanor Burns through
the 40's. We will be using her new book Victory Quilts picking 12 of the 20 blocks.
For those of you not familiar with our sampler class, you will pay $5.00 for
your first block and if you bring the completed block back to the next class you will get the next block free. The rules for
this are very strict you must be here for the class with your block completed or you will have to pay $5.00 for
the next block. No exceptions. If you have to miss a class your next block can only be picked up during the class. You
could have a nice quilt for only $5.00 plus the price of book you probably will purchase any way. Join us for lots of
fun. Show and Tell is encouraged.

This technique uses straight rows,
cut the top and resew into an on-point setting. No diagonal rows and no setting triangles. Use a combination of light and
dark fabrics to create the contrasting rows.

Quilts.
Using 5 inch squares
and a sew and flip technique you can create this wonderful star quilt. The borders are done with flying geese to frame up
your blocks and add interest. Your quilt will look wonderful in any style of fabrics. I used batiks to make it look more contemporary.
Skill level: Easy/ Moderate.

Red Work Snow Men
Embroidery Block of the Month

Join the fun as we machine embroider and appliqué this cute red work quilt. We will have
the quilt completed before the holidays! Starting in June, we learn machine embroidery and appliqué techniques until we have all the blocks completed. In
October, we will put the blocks together into a quilt top.
Skills covered: hooping, stabilizer, quilt as you go, piecing and assembling quilt.
Supplies: embroidery machine, embroidery disk, embroidery thread, stabilizer, fabric for blocks.

easy method of sashings and on point settings to make a lovely quilt. Choose your favorite fat quarter bundle from floral
to reproductions to make this top.

Nickel Quilts Great Designs from 5-Inch Scraps.
Use reproduction
prints (1850-1900) to create a wonderful old-fashioned look. Or this might be a good time to use up some of those fabrics
from your stash that just haven’t found a home yet. Try adding a few novelty prints for interest. We will use 5 inch
squares, cut a little, sew a little, cut a little more, and make a block. This quilt top uses a variety of lights, darks,
and mediums to make an Irish chain style design.

Beginning Machine Quilting

This is a "hands-on
class" to build your machine quilting skills. Learn how to quilt straight lines as well as basic free motion designs.
Your sewing machine must be in good working condition. A walking foot and a darning foot are required. Some store
classroom sewing machines will be available for sign up, but we recommend that you bring and use your own.
Be sure and pick up the supply list when you register for this class.
